Wedding Bouquet Recreation

Did you get married awhile ago and missed out on preserving your real wedding flowers? Well I have some good news for you – I offer Bouquet Recreation. All you have to do is fill out the Custom Order Form on the Custom Floral Art page linked below and send a photo of your original bouquet to carryingflowers.art@gmail.com and I will work with a local florist to recreate your bouquet using the exact same types and shades of flowers. You’ll be in charge of covering the cost of the new flowers.

Then I’ll press all of the new blooms and turn them into a frame and/or jewelry for you!

These pieces can be just as meaningful, especially as gifts or to celebrate an important milestone, such as an anniversary!

Shipping Your Flowers

After enjoying your gorgeous florals fresh at your event, you can ship them to me to get started with the preservation process! Mailing a cardboard box full of flowers may sound weird, but trust me, it’s easier than you think!

Here’s a tip: I recommend putting a trustworthy person in charge of caring for your bouquet after the ceremony and shipping it out the next day, such as the maid of honor, mother, father, or responsible sibling. I’m sure they would love to help! And besides, you did the hard part – it’s time to relax and dance the night away without worrying about watering your flowers! If you’re going on a honeymoon immediately afterwards, definitely have your trusted person ship the flowers for you, because quick shipping is key!

Then, simply follow the steps below to ensure your blooms get to me in the best condition:

1. Keep the flowers watered, cool, and treated gently until shipping.

Note: It’s best to skip the bouquet toss to limit petal bruising (or ask your florist for a mini substitute bouquet if you really love that tradition)!

2. The day after the wedding, trim the flower stems at a 45-degree angle.

3. Wrap the trimmed stems in a damp paper towel to keep your blooms hydrated during their journey.

Note: Make sure the petals do not get wet or there’s a risk of mold.

4. Now put the paper towel-wrapped stems into a plastic bag secured tightly with a rubber band or tape.

5. Tape a smaller cardboard box to the inside bottom of your larger shipping box and cut an X in the top. Slide the wrapped stems right into the X to keep your bouquet upright during travel.

6. Arrange crumpled paper, newspaper, or paper towels all around the flowers to support it. Don’t be afraid to really get it snug up against the blooms without putting too much pressure.

7. Tape up your box and write a shipping label with my home studio address (40 College Ave. Orono, ME 04473) and your address for returns.

8. Drop off at a local UPS store or post office. Specify overnight or 1-2 day shipping to ensure your flowers look the best upon arrival to Maine!

If any of this sounds complicated or overwhelming to you, fear not! I will be here to support you and help answer questions every step of the way so you can get an end product that you truly love.
